Sharon Ann Clarke MacNeil

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Sharon MacNeil, beloved wife, mother and grandmother, on February 23, 2023 at Peterborough Regional Health Centre from complications of a hiatal hernia.

Sharon was born on October 4, 1945 to Georgina Nutter and Bill Clarke in Cape Breton, Nova Scotia. She married Hasard MacNeil on September 7, 1963 and moved to Port Hope where she raised three daughters and worked in the restaurant and bakery industries. After she retired, Sharon moved to Peterborough to be closer to her grandchildren, whom she loved very much.

Sharon leaves behind her husband (Hasard); daughters Diane (Paul), Jo and Carol-Ann; grandchildren Natalie Matkovsky (Taras), Jeremy Istead (Marian Kelly), Matthew Istead and great grandson Alex Matkovsky. She will be remembered for her generosity, kindness and sense of humor. She will be dearly missed.

A memorial service for Sharon will take place at St. Alphonsus Liguori Parish in Peterborough on Saturday May 6, 2023 at 1pm.
