Sheala Anne Downer Johnston

Passed away after a seven year battle with dementia surrounded by her family at Fairhaven on Saturday, January 7, 2012 in her 66th year. Cherished wife of Jim for 43 years. Loving mother of Jennifer Johnston and Doralyn Goodwin, Laurie and Bill Marshall and Bob Johnston and Rachel Tavenor. Devoted grandmother of Hayden and Lily Marshall, Emma Conant, Ella and Emily Johnston. Beloved daughter of Dorothy and Al Downer; sister of Ron and Donna Downer. She was loved by many aunts, uncles, sisters and brothers-in-law, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. Sheala was a Registered Nurse for over 40 years. She ended her nursing career in the ICU at Norfolk General Hospital in Simcoe, Ontario. The family wishes to thank the staff of the CCAC and the special Care Unit at Fairhaven. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 7-9 pm at COMSTOCK FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE, 356 Rubidge Street, Peterborough, Ontario (705) 745-4683; and from 10-11 am on Wednesday, January 11, 2012 at NORTHMINSTER UNITED CHURCH, 300 Sunset Blvd., Peterborough; followed by a funeral service at 11:00 am in the church.
