McCARRELL, Shelley Elaine (Nee Hallick)

January 27, 1961 – May 18, 2022

It is with extreme sadness that we announce the recent passing of Shelley, peacefully surrounded by her loved ones on Wednesday, May 18, 2022 in her 61st year. Shelley passed after a very long and courageous, hard fought battle with metastatic breast cancer.

Loving mother to Sophie and the late Angela, cherished partner to Steve Calvert of 26 years. Loving daughter of the late Hassan Hallick and the late Helen (Malowney), dear sister to Bonnie McIntosh (Gord), Diana Beaudry (late Jim Anderson), Wendy Lessard (Rick), and the late Marilyn Kirchberger and the late Linda Crawford. Shelley will be deeply missed by many nieces, nephews, cousins and many dear and close friends, especially her best friend Cheryl McArthur along with our yorkie Lexi.

Shelley was a kind, caring, loving, generous, genuine individual that was known for her love of life, love of animals, playing her guitar, painting, going to the Petes games, watching the Jays play on T.V., taking the Camaro for the odd joyride, enjoying her morning coffee on the rear deck, watching the wildlife playing in the yard, especially the cardinals, and spending quality time with family and friends while also being there for them in their times of need. Shelley met many friends while employed at Johnson & Johnson and met many more while at Siemens Milltronics, namely her friend Kim Nimmo. The family would like to thank Dr. Jeyabalan, Dr. Whiting, Dr. Morelli, Dr. Blake, the Cancer Care and Palliative Care staff at P.R.H.C. , along with the many support services in and around the Peterborough area for the care provided to Shelley and our family. In keeping with Shelley’s wishes, a private service was held and cremation has taken place, interment at Little Lake Cemetery.

Arrangements were entrusted to Comstock-Kaye Life Celebration Centre and a special thanks to Celebrant Nola Wilson for her kind words.

Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be left at www.comstockkaye.com for the McCarrell/Calvert family.
