

of the Congregation of the Sisters of St. Joseph in Canada, Peterborough neighbourhood, entered into her eternal rest at Mount St. Joseph, Peterborough, on February 1st in the 80th year of her religious life. She was the daughter of John H. and Annie (Wheeler) McLaughlin of St. Andrew’s West, ON. Along with the members of her religious community she leaves to mourn her, her brother-in-law, Edmund Beaudette, and many loving nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her brothers Charles, Rev. Terence P. McLaughlin C.S.B., Rev. John Redmond McLaughlin C.S.B., Basil, Felix, and her sister, Anastasia Beaudette. Sister Patricia ministered as a nurse, 1939- 1943, at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Peterborough and in Parry Sound. She then changed her ministry and enjoyed a long teaching career (1947- 1978) with assignments to Cobourg, Almonte, Hastings, and Honey Harbour. Her next postings were to Ottawa and then to the Stormont Cornwall area as a teacher librarian. She retired to Mount St. Joseph in 1978 to undertake a variety of community services such as librarian, gardener, storekeeper and driver. Visitation will be at Mount St. Joseph, 1555 Monaghan Road, on Monday, February 3, 2014 from 2:00 p.m.to 4:00 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will be at Mount St. Joseph, Peterborough, on Tuesday, February 4th at 10:30 a.m. This will be followed by interment at Highland Park Cemetery, Peterborough.
