In 1967, she ventured across the pond with her family and loving husband, Tony, to start a new chapter in life. Her family settled by Chemong Lake. The family also spent many afternoons canoeing on Lake of Two Rivers. Sylvia and Tony shared a deep bond, enjoying their morning, afternoon, and bedtime coffees together.
Sylvia was a devoted mother to her children, Angela Alberico (David), Rolanda Morrow (Jamie), Chris Heuduk (Sovanny), and Graham Heuduk. She was also a cherished grandmother to Daniel Heuduk, Christina Heuduk, Lenda Alberico (Ben Mathews), Shanel Alberico, Alexis Morrow, and Bailey Morrow, and a loving great-grandmother to Lilith Alberico-King and Vivienne Mathews. She is predeceased by her beloved husband, Tony Heuduk.
Throughout her life, Sylvia enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, who often did her hair and makeup. She had a passion for travel, with some of her favourite destinations being Sault Saint Marie and Thunder Bay. Her hobbies included knitting, sewing, puzzles, and reading books from foreign countries. She also loved to dance and sing, bringing joy to those around her.
Sylvia's legacy as a great mother and grandmother will be remembered fondly by her family and friends. Her gentle spirit and adventurous nature left a lasting impact on everyone she met.
In gratitude for the support she received, Sylvia supported the Student Nutrition Program, which can be found at studentnutritionontario.ca.
As Sylvia once wisely said, "You don't always need a plan. Sometimes you just need to breathe, trust, let go and see what happens." Her words and spirit will continue to inspire those who knew her.
