Theresa Irene Scarbeau Barber

On Tuesday, July 9, 2024, while in hospital, Theresa (nee Scarbeau), age 83, passed away. Loving wife and partner of 64 years to Gord. Dear Mother to daughter, Karen and son, Chris (Elsa), and puppy, Georgie. Loving Nana to grandsons, Justin, and Lucas (Danielle). Dear sister to Simone (predeceased), Georgette, Jeannine (Bob), Louie (predeceased), and Debbie (Ken). Aunt and Great Aunt to nieces and nephews.

Those who knew Theresa know she was always up for a game or activity and was usually the official scorekeeper. Theresa was an avid bowler for many years playing both 5-pin and 10-pin bowling. Theresa enjoyed spending time with family and friends at home and at the cottage. Theresa loved gardening and starting her plants indoor from seed every spring.

Friends and family are invited to a Celebration of Life of Theresa at the Brownsdale Community Centre, 2226 Golf Course Road, Newcastle, on SUNDAY, AUGUST 11, 2024 from 1:30 to 4:30 PM. There will be a short SERVICE at 2:00 PM followed by refreshments. Donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society of Canada and Canadian Cancer Society. We wish to thank the doctors and all of the nurses in the Palliative Care Unit at the Peterborough Regional Health Centre for their compassion and excellent care of Theresa.
