Born in Warkworth, Ontario, Vivian grew up on a farm with her loving family and beloved horse and dog. She met her future husband, Cecil, at a community high school dance, they married in 1960 and were together for more than 50 years. Vivian went to Teachers College in Peterborough and began her career in a one room school house. Vivian and Cecil enjoyed the Peterborough area and eventually bought their first home in Bridgenorth. Career aspirations did not last long as Vivian became the loving mother of three daughters - Debbie, Valerie and Pamela. And then "Gma" to Djordje, Aleks and Milé.
Vivian liked spending time with immediate family and prioritized remaining in touch with extended family and friends, new and old.
Community was also important to Vivian, dedicating time to the Bridgenorth United Church and after a move back to Peterborough, the residents of Auburn Village Gardens.
She was a smart, caring, thoughtful, generous person who will be deeply missed by many.
The family will receive friends at the Ashburnham Funeral Home, 840 Armour Rd., Peterborough on Thursday, April 9th from 4 to 7 p.m. The funeral service celebrating Vivian's life will take place at Bridgenorth United Church, 832 Charles Street, Bridgenorth, Ontario, on Friday, April 10th at 11 a.m.
