On behalf the Peterborough Seniors Hockey Club of which Wayne was a long time member, we extend our sympathies and condolences to Wayne's family and friends who mourn in his death. Met my friend years ago playing with J Lo ball team. Made him pot cookies for pain, soup and stews that he could eat.  As much as he was suffering.  Always asked me how I was doing. Same as Wayne Ellis and Greg Marchen.  A great group of Old Guys that were a family. And they took me into their group.  Godspeed Whizzer. Thank you for being My Friend. 💖

To Wayne's family, I worked at the old Peterborough Civic Hospital for fourteen years and  knew Wayne to talk to.  I always found him friendly and he had a good sense of humour.  Please accept my sincere condolences on your loss.

Heaven just gained an all star. I played ball with and against Wayne for years. He was a great ball player, truly competitive, but always a gentleman. The kind of guy you want to see on the field. However, what impressed me more than anything, was the way he faced his challenges. He didn’t let it get him down. He was always smiling, he’d snap a quick one liner, and still maintain that competitive edge. You were one of the good guys Wayne, and you will be extremely missed. RIP my friend.

Just heard the news of Wayne's passing. My condolences to the family. Wayne was a great friend and fastball teammate back in the late 70's and 80's. Had a great time playing ball with him and also a lot of great memories from out trip to Hawaii.  He has gone thru a lot over the past number of years and I can hear him up in heaven trying to get a game of ball or hockey going. You were one of the good guys and until we meet again RIP .
Brian, I am in Arizona till the 3rd of December so will be unable to attend the Celebration but I will be there in spirit.  Again, so sorry of your lost.

So sorry to hear of Wayne’s passing … I worked with Wayne for many years at Civic and watched and played ball with Wayne in many hospital tournaments … he was a well respected and fun loving guy who took pride in his work and always smiling even through rough times … he will be truly missed ..Reg and I offer our condolences to Loretta and to his  family … Rest In Peace Wayne … Kathy and Reg Woodbeck 

My wife Carol and I were so sorry to hear of Wayne's passing.  Always a guy to be concerned about everyone else who was going through similar challenges.  He will missed on the ball field and the ice service.  He was a gentleman on and off the playing field.  Our condolences to Wayne's family.

To Loretta and Wayne's family.  Sorry to learn of Wayne's passing.  I too worked at the Civic hospital many years ago.  I have fond memories of Wayne and his sense of humour.  There was something about that "smile".  I offer my condolences.

A huge Dodger fan, a baseball lover. So happy I was able to be a teammate in his final season. Honest and humourous. Steadfast. I miss him already.
