Bill was born at Glen Williams, Ontario on November 9, 1927. He worked in the family fencing business, supervising one team. He moved to Millbrook in 1962 to cut cedar posts for the winter and never returned. Following this he worked in various businesses, his favourite being running heavy equipment to maintain the Trans Canada Pipe Line. After moving into Peterborough he formed his own drywall business. He worked all over Peterborough County, one of his contracts being the complete drywalling of Rubidge Retirement Residence and many subdivisions for contractors. Bill enjoyed country dancing and music, golfing and spending the winters in Florida. When he retired he took up wood-working and family and friends all have items in their homes that he lovingly produced. Bill was a real go getter and his kindness and great sense of humour will be remembered. He and Lois enjoyed travel in Ontario and Alberta and endless trips to Tim Horton’s.
Special thanks to the nurses and staff at St. Joseph’s at Fleming for their love and care of Bill, especially in his last days.
In respect of Bill’s wishes there will not be a Celebration of Life Service. If desired, donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
