On April 7, 2024, Bill in his 83rd year died peacefully at Peterborough Regional Hospital surrounded by his family.
Bill grew up in Peterborough and loved his city. He was a graduate of the University of New Brunswick and really enjoyed his experiences in the Maritimes. He then returned to Ontario and lived in Toronto working for Allstate Insurance.
He then settled in Peterborough to take over his father’s insurance brokerage, and raised his family in the west end of town. When Bill retired, he became an avid golfer and loved chatting with his neighbours and friends he would meet on the streets in downtown Peterborough.
He is survived by his wife Maria Teresa, sister Joan Hillary, son James and daughter Anna (Rob Zielinski). He was a loving grandfather “poppi” to Eric, Aidan, Noah, Isabella and Aleksandra.
The family is having a private ceremony in the spring and in lieu of flowers Bill would appreciate donations to your favourite charity or Peterborough Regional Hospital.
We want to thank the wonderful and caring staff (Karley, Abbey, Jessica) at PRHC who made Bill’s final moments peaceful.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.comstockkaye.com for the family.
