After attending high school, Alice moved to Austin, Texas. She began working for the late U. S. Congressman J. J. “Jake” Pickle and extended family, where she worked for over 25 years. She later worked for the State of Texas, retiring in 1989.
In the late 1950’s, Mrs. Davis united with Nineteenth Street Missionary Baptist Church. She was a member of Mission II, and was a faithful and dedicated parishioner until her health began to fail in 2012.
Mrs. Alice Davis departed this life on Friday, December 2, 2016. She had eight siblings and was married to Mr. Hamilen Davis. She was preceded in death by her husband, siblings, and her parents.
She leaves to cherish her memories two nieces, Rita Adams (Morton) and Pat Perkins; along with a host of other relatives, friends, and her Nineteenth Street church family.
