

Our sweet Alice passed away on August 14, 2011. She was a wonderful wife, mom, granny, sister, aunt and friend. She was born on October 25, 1933 in Weir, Texas.
Alice grew up in the Jonah-Georgetown-Taylor area. She devoted her life to her family and was an employee of Safeway for 35 years. She married John Kaeding on November 28, 1978 and they retired and moved to Tivoli, Texas in 1993. They were active members of the First Baptist Church in Tivoli, Texas. In January of this year they moved to Bastrop to be closer to their daughters. Alice loved to travel with John and to visit with their camper friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, C.H. and Mittie Robbins Ransom, Sr.; brother, C.H. Ransom, Jr.; and brothers-in-law, Raymond Polasek and Robert Kaeding.
She is survived by her wonderful husband, John; daughters, Debbie (Bob) Campbell, Cindy (John) Gangstad, Kathy (Joe Wilcoxen) Schoen; grandchildren, Allison (Keat) Litton, Amy (Luke) Monfries, Erik (Patricia) Gangstad, Brian Amend, Steve (Josh Miller) Amend, Kevin (Mandie) Amend; and great-grandchildren, Laine & Davis Litton, Caden Miller-Amend, and Cassidy Amend. Alice is also survived by her sister, Dorothy Polasek; sister-in-law, Georgia Ransom; aunt, Geneva Robbins; step-children, Debbie, Bonnie and John, Jr. and their families, and many other extended family and friends.
Serving as pallbearers will be Erik Gangstad, Luke Monfries, Clint Olson, Jason Olson, Brad Noack, and Jack Harp.
Honorary pallbearers are Bobby Townsend, David Patterson, Byron Evans, Dwayne Cox and Phil Novakosky (deceased).
Special thanks to Silver Pines Nursing Facility in Bastrop, Texas, their staff and residents. They were wonderful.
Visitation will be on August 17, 2011 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home in Pflugerville. Services will be at 10:00 a.m. on August 18, 2011 in the Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with burial to follow at Cook-Walden/ Capital Parks Cemetery.
