

Amos Fred Underwood, 56, died peacefully on Monday, September 1st, 2014 in Round Rock, TX. He was born on May 6, 1958 in Memphis, TN to the late Amos French Sr. and Mary Underwood. On November 17, 1988 he married Demetra Adams, and they are still presently married for a total of 26 years.
Amos dedicated his life to Christ at an early age. Amos entered active duty to the US Army on 10/24/1978 he was released from service with an Honorable discharge on 10/23/1981. Amos was employed as a Bus operator at Capitol Metro for 29 years, and was particularly known for his hot shot on the pool table in the break room, being a very dedicated employee and winning several championships at the bus rodeos. He enjoyed spending time with his two grandsons and going to church on Sunday mornings.
Amos is survived by his loving wife, Demetra Underwood; his oldest daughter, Alyse Underwood, daughter, Ashley Underwood, and his only son, Amos Underwood. He also leaves behind three brothers, Amos II, Michael, and Lenard and four sisters, Gloria, Carolyn, Louise and Brenda. God blessed Amos with two grandsons, Ashton and Mathis. He also leaves to cherish his memory a host of relatives and friends.
There will be a visitation held on Sunday, September 7, 2014 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., with funeral services following on Monday, September 8, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. Both services will be held at Cook Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home located at 14501 N IH 35, Pflugerville, TX 78660. Amos will be laid to rest at New Park Cemetery located at 4536 Horn Lake Rd, Memphis, TN 38109.
