A celebration of life for Amy Robertson of San Angelo, Texas, daughter of Marma Darlene and Van Michael Robertson. Amy, 57 years young, passed away surrounded by her loved ones after a short battle with cancer. She never let her cancer diagnosis define her and was determined never to let it steal her smile.
She was the second daughter of four girls for Darlene and Michael. She was known for always testing the waters and making sure she was heard. She was born in Abilene, Texas she lived in Florida, Alabama eventually settling in San Angelo, Texas. She went on to raise two children Rebecca Spencer and Charlene Robertson whom she was so proud of the women they were becoming.
Amy had a way of never meeting a stranger and everyone knew her name. She worked many years at Albertsons where she went on to make lifelong friendships. She worked 15+ years in the medical field helping the community with medical DME and supplies. Amy had a big heart for those in need and made it her personal mission to make sure all were taken care of. She spent many hours after work doing home visits and making sure patients had what they needed in time as well as making sure they knew how to use their supplies. She could spot a broken walker, a cane at the wrong height, or wheelchair in need a mile away. There was always a chance she had just the part you needed ready to go in her car to fix it. She would give her last penny away if she knew it would ease someone else's pain.
In her free time, she was a full-time mother and the best “MawMaw” to her two grandsons. Her children were her whole world, and she always made sure they knew that. If she wasn’t planning sleepovers with her grandbabies, she was at band concerts, football games, or trying new recipes with her daughters.
She had a big heart and considered many of her extended family. She was her grandnephews and nieces' number one fan. Emilie, Spencer, and Clyde would brighten the darkest room once they entered. In her last months she built a friendship with her nephew Clyde that will be remembered forever. Her grandsons Van, 4 and Maverick, 2 were her partners in crime; they always knew each other's next move. All she wanted was to be the best MawMaw she could be, and she was just that. The sun set and rose with their MawMaw, they left no flower unpicked or rock behind. She was their “Best Fran” as they would say, Sleepovers, sugar, McDonalds and toys never had a shortage.
Her sisters were her best friends, and she always thought they all could lasso the moon. They had normal sister banter, but she never once questioned how much she loved them. She was always the one to brag and keep up to date on their achievements and milestones. Even if they didn’t speak for a moment, you could always count on her to still find a way to keep up with them and brag about that. Sisterhood was forever, and she could not have been prouder of who they had become.
Her mother and father were the backbone of the family, and she always wanted to make them proud. Her father was her best friend and after his passing she made it her goal to make sure her mother
always felt his love and presence around. One of her favorite things to do in the last few years was to come over and cook out and work in the yard with her mother just like her father did. The two had a bond over their gardens and flowers that could never be broken; she was constantly working in her yard and determined to leave no soil untouched with her garden beds.
Amy is preceded in enteral peace by her Grandparents; Charlene and David Miller, Gaynelle and Frank Robertson, and her Father Van Michael Robertson. She is survived by her mother Darlene Robertson of San Angelo. Sisters, Charla Robertson of San Angelo, Amber Price of Austin, and Courtney Adams and Husband Mark Adams of Cedar Creek. Daughters Rebecca Spencer and Husband Clayton Spencer of Palmer and Charlene Robertson of San Angelo. Grandsons, Van Spencer and Maverick Spencer sons of Rebecca and Clayton. She leaves behind seven nieces and nephews; Kaitlyn Delgado and husband San Raymond Delgado, daughter Emilie Delgado of San Angelo. Michael Adams and Wife Morgan Adams, son Spencer Adams of Georgetown. The family would like to extend their never ending gratitude for the medical staff at Seton 7 North. Thank you for loving Amy and becoming her second family. We can never say it enough, she was there for 4 months and she consider them her family and she loved each and everyone up there.
