

Annemarie Ursula Gasch Haydon, 88, of Austin, Texas passed away November 1, 2017. Ursula was born in Bremen, Germany on December 20, 1928. Ursula was the youngest child of Marie Anna and Alfred Albert Gasch. Ursula had one sister, Marianne and two brothers, Gerhard and Helmut.
Ursula was the daughter of a Bremen industrialist and attended boarding schools in a country that was being pushed into war. After the war and graduating from business school, Ursula worked for a bank in Bremen. It was at the bank where Ursula met her future husband, Frank Charles Haydon.
Lieutenant Haydon had been assigned to Germany to assist with post-war activities and lived in an apartment above the bank. It was there that Ursula and Frank met and embarked on a lifelong love affair. They were married on March 10, 1948 arriving at the church, in a coach drawn by white horses and overflowing with people and flowers. Following Frank’s tour of duty they returned to the United States to begin their life together.
Ursula was a wonderful mother and an active homemaker to her five children Donald Frankalbert Haydon (Susan), David Frank Haydon (Donna), Hans Peter Haydon (Sybil), Ingrid Rosemarie Green (Doug) and Scott Charles Haydon. Ursula is also survived by grandchildren Eric Haydon (Carmen), Kristin Lane (Kelly), Jamie Haydon (Jennifer), Ryan Green (Lindsey), Leah Smith (Brandon), Kira Haydon (Rob), Monika Haydon Rexford (Charlie), David Haydon and great grandchildren Jonathan Monroe, Caitlin and Collin Lane, Brianna and Kyle Smith, Ansel Green and Alex Haydon.
Ursula will be honored and remembered at a Celebration of Life service at Gethsemane Lutheran Church on Monday, November 6, 2017 at 11:00 AM.
Ursula will be deeply and sadly missed by her family and friends who know that she has been reunited with her loving husband, Frank C. Haydon and family members who have gone before her.
