

Annette was born in Tioga, Louisiana on May 2,1938 to Morris Walker and Orella Lanier. She attended Tioga High School and shortly after graduating, she married B. Brian Chelette on January 18, 1957.
Annette and Brian pastored several churches across the states of Louisiana and Texas. In the early 1970’s, they served as directors of the Tupelo Children’s Mansion, a home for children in need, in Tupelo, Mississippi.
They loved the continent of Africa and completed two missionary tours there in Ghana, West Africa and Zimbabwe, South Africa.
The Chelette’s retired to Austin, Texas in 2000 and continued to serve the Church as elders. Annette and Brian were married for 53 years until Brian’s death in 2010.
A few years later, at her church LifeFamily Austin, Annette met Mel Murray and they married on November 7, 2014. The ensuing nine years were filled with much joy, laughter and exciting travel to Hawaii, Alaska and even a tour of Israel.
Annette was a deeply spiritual person who loved the Lord with all her heart. She had read her Bible through many, many times and was known as a woman of prayer. Annette was an incredible hostess and cook. She loved to work with her hands and was an avid quilter. So many of Annette’s friends have commented on her sense of humor and the joy she brought to their lives.
Annette was preceded in death by her husband Brian Chelette and son Keith Chelette. She is survived by her husband Mel Murray of Austin, TX, her daughter, Denise Phillips and husband Randy of Austin, TX and her sister Janice Brown of Beaumont, Texas. “Momo ‘Net” had 6 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren, whom she adored.
A memorial service will be held at the LifeAustin Chapel on Monday, November 13th at 10:30am. A viewing will precede the service at 10:00am. Burial will follow at Cook Walden Memorial Hill.
