

Baldomero Galvan, age 97, affectionately known as "Uncle Baldo" to family and friends, passed away peacefully on June 27th, 2026. He was born on October 14th, 1928, in Thorndale, Texas, to Pedro Galvan and Rebeca Salinas.
Baldomero was the last surviving of five siblings: Minerva Espinoza, Baldemar Galvan, Baltazar Galvan, and Rosendo Galvan. He proudly served in the United States Air Force. During his service he was stationed at Castle Air Force Base, which ultimately brought him to San Francisco, California. After the military, he built a long career at Pacific Gas & Electric (PG&E), where he retired after 27 years of service. He made San Francisco his home for many years before moving back to Texas in 2011, where he spent the remainder of his life in Austin.
Baldomero will be remembered for his strength, generosity, strong friendships, and his desire to help others. In San Francisco, he was well known as a skilled carpenter and handyman who was always willing to lend a helping hand. After returning to Austin, he remained active in his community as a dedicated volunteer at the Gus Garcia Senior Activity Center, where he enjoyed spending time with friends and serving others. He also took great pride in caring for his yard and enjoyed keeping it beautiful throughout the years.
He is survived by many nieces and nephews, as well as numerous great-nieces and great-nephews who will cherish his memory.
His life spanned nearly a century, and he leaves behind a legacy of family, service, friendship, and kindness. Through his generosity, work ethic, and caring nature, he made a lasting impression on the many people whose lives he touched and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
A Memorial Service will be held at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home, 14501 North Ih-35, Pflugerville, TX 78660, US, on July 18, 2026, from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm.
A Reception for family and friends will held following the Memorial service at the funeral home.
