

Barbara “Ginger” Lee Ward was born on June 4, 1937 in Thief River Falls, Minnesota, and passed away peacefully on October 20, 2011 in Austin. She graduated in 1955 from South Oak Cliff High School in Dallas. She was a long time resident of Austin after relocating from Dallas in 1972. Ginger was married to her high school sweetheart for 57 years.
Ginger is survived by her husband, Ed, and their three children, Jodie Ward-House and husband John of Austin, Jana Lowry and husband Jeff of Needville, and Jeff Ward of Austin; and three grandsons, Will Brandt of Needville and Baker and Blake Ward of Austin. Ginger is preceded in death by her parents, George and Mildred Lee and her brother, George L. Lee.
Ginger focused her life caring for her family and being a loving grandmother. For all those who knew and respected her, Ginger set an example of life full of integrity, devotion, and love.
Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 25, 2011 in the Memorial Chapel of Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home, 14501 North Interstate 35, Pflugerville. Immediately following the services, a Celebration of Ginger’s life will be hosted in the Austin Room at the Austin Marriott North, 2600 La Frontera Blvd., Round Rock.
