

She was preceded in death by her parents Raymond and Daphne Malicoat, her husband of 48 years Lyndon A. (Buck) Troxell, her son Lyndon Gene Troxell, brothers Carl Malicoat, Donald Malicoat and sister Nelta Strawn. Left behind to cherish her memory is her devoted daughter Shannon Lea Miller and her husband David Miller of Round Rock, Texas, brother Clarence Malicoat of Lockhart, Texas and sister Kay Thomas of Spicewood Springs, Texas. Barbara was a beloved daughter, sister, mother, and friend she leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and friends who touched her life in a very special way.
She graduated from Lockhart High School in 1950 and married the love of her life Lyndon A. (Buck) Troxell on November 29, 1950. She worked for Scarbrough’s and as a key punch operator for the City of Austin, and later in life as a manager for the food service department of Austin ISD. She was a longtime member of Hillcrest Baptist Church in Austin and a current member of First Baptist Church of Round Rock.
Barbara’s greatest joy was being a wife, mother and friend, she loved the outdoors, working in her yard, loved animals and always had pets, was an avid reader, and a wonderful cook. She surrounded herself with a beautiful garden and always had a positive and happy outlook on life. She never was one to complain, and she always wanted to be of help to others, Barbara had such a kind and loving spirit. She was incredibly dedicated to those she loved and her strength and joy for life touched everyone she knew.
She will always be remembered as a beautiful, loving person. She was deeply loved by her family and friends. All of those who were touched by her love and kindness will cherish her memory and miss her deeply, always knowing that we were blessed by having her in our lives. Barbara had a loving devotion to God and was blessed with a long and happy journey.
We move forward, secure in the belief that she is enjoying endless fields of beautiful flowers and that her loved ones that have already passed are waiting at heaven's gate with open arms along with the loving embrace of God. Heaven has one more angel to watch over us all – we will miss her always.
A graveside service and celebration of her life will be held on Wednesday, March 4, 2026, at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Cemetery in Pflugerville.
Following the service, a reception will be held for family and friends in the Longhorn Room of Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home.
