

Betty Wilson Crawford (85), of Pflugerville, went to be with the Lord on Saturday night. Her final days were spent surrounded by family and friends whose lives were blessed by her. Visitation will be held at Cook-Walden Capital Parks Funeral Home in Pflugerville on Wednesday, December 8, at 6:00-8:00 pm. Funeral services are Thursday, December 9, at 10:00 am.
Betty was born in San Augustine, TX to Myrtle Barbo and Wilburn Wilson on February 28, 1925. She graduated from Jasper High School and quickly joined the military to do her part to assist the troops in World War II. It was here that she met the love of her life, Charles “Bill” Crawford. After a whirlwind courtship, they got married September 6, 1945. Betty and Bill traveled the world through the military and eventually settled in Austin, Texas with Bill’s retirement in the mid-1960s.
Betty retired from the Veterans Administration Data Processing Center, Austin, TX as an Administrative Assistant and later worked at Windsor Park Baptist Church as Pastor’s Secretary. She loved Bluebell ice cream, Peanut M&M’s, playing 42 and watching the SPURS.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, John Wilson. Surviving are sister Martha Welch; brother Charles Wilson and his wife Delores; sister-in-law Catherine Wilson; her four children and their spouses- Charles R. and Charley Crawford, Joey J. and Kimberly Crawford, Patricia and David Croghan, and Cynthia Crawford; ten grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. Also grieving her loss are many nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends.
Betty has now returned to the arms of her loving husband, Charles Crawford and is in the presence of our Lord. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Bible Society or a charity of your choice.
