Betty Joy Lucas

She is preceded in death by her parents, Luther and Fay Small, and her sister Margaret McKinney.

She is survived by her sons, Ronald Lucas and Adriana Gutierrez and Michael Lucas and wife Kathy; and daughter, Sharon Vasquez and husband Nelson; her grandchildren, who called her “MeMa”, Heather, Tina, Lauren, Ashley and husband Dale Reneau, Phillip Michael, Jena, Megan, Ashley and Katelynn; and her great grandchildren, Riley and Benjamin. She is also survived by her sisters, Norma Fowler and Frances Rymer; her brother, Harold Small; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Betty’s most cherished moments were spent with her family. She also enjoyed working at arts and crafts shows and visiting with all the people. She will be deeply missed by all. We wish to express our heartfelt appreciation to the staff at Hospice Austin’s Christopher House for their sincere kindness and expertise throughout her illness.

The family will receive friends and relatives on Wednesday, June 22, 2011 from 9:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home, 14501 North Interstate 35 in Pflugerville. Funeral services will begin at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home chapel. Graveside services will follow at Cook-Walden/Memorial Hill Cemetery.
