Betty Strange

Betty Louise Strange, 84, passed away peacefully in Austin, Texas, on August 21, 2012, with her family by her side. Betty was born in Hamilton, Ohio, and has been a resident of Austin since 1977 where she was a committed member of Great Hills Baptist Church.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents, William and Helen McCreary and brothers, Billy and Bob McCreary. She is survived by her loving husband of 64 years, Louis Strange of Austin, along with her sons, Bill, Michael of Elgin, Texas, Wesley of Sherman, Texas; her sister, Helen Collard of Center, Texas; 6 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation and gratitude to St. David’s North Austin Medical Center and Lighthouse Hospice for their care and compassion.

The family will receive guests at a visitation to be held Thursday, August 23, 2012 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Cook-Walden Capital Parks Funeral Home in Pflugerville, Texas. A Funeral Service will be held Friday, August 24, 2012 in the Memorial Chapel of Cook-Walden Capital Parks Funeral Home with committal services following at Cook-Walden Capital Parks Cemetery. Services will be officiated by Reverend Ross Hartsfield of Great Hills Baptist Church in Austin, Texas.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Lighthouse Hospice of Austin, Texas.
