Billy grew up in Elgin, Texas, and was a 1948 graduate of Elgin High School. He attended Texas A&M University and graduated in January of 1960. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force, where he served from March 1951 to March 1955. On April 20, 1960, he married Noma Jean Salyer in Georgetown, Texas. He loved history, especially learning about World War II, and his hobbies included woodworking and model railroading.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Noma, who passed away on November 3, 2016. He is survived by his son, Gary and wife Denise Morrison; son, Tim and wife Barbara Morrison; and daughter, Leann and husband Glenn Blanchard; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from Noon until 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 10, 2016, with a funeral service to begin at 1:00 p.m. in the Memorial Chapel of Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home in Pflugerville. He will be laid to rest at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Cemetery.
