

Bob Mack Bartlett passed away February 1, 2012 in Austin, Texas. He was born October 12, 1927 in Ballinger, Texas, the son of Arthur O. and Dora Bartlett. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Maurice V. and Gaston B. Bartlett.
Bob graduated from Ballinger High School and attended Schreiner Institute (now Schreiner University) until he entered the Unites States Army, serving in the Coast Artillery in the South Pacific then returning to Schreiner. Bob then returned to Ballinger and was associated with his father, A.O. Bartlett as a Phillips 66 Petroleum Distributor for several years. He was an active member and Deacon in the Presbyterian Church as well as serving as an Assistant Chief with the Ballinger Fire Department.
Bob moved to Austin in 1970, going to work for the Texas Department of Agriculture, State Purchasing Commission, and retiring from the Teachers Retirement System. He was an active member and Deacon at St. Andrews Presbyterian Church serving several years as greeter and official "Snow Cone Man" at Vacation Bible School. Bob loved his hobby of Square Dancing and served on several different committees in the Austin Square and Round Dance Association as well as President of his club. He and his wife Mattie attended many state and national conventions.
Bob is survived by his wife Mattie, three step-daughters, Donna Lancaster and her husband Terry, Sherron Willie and her husband Freddie, and Connie Wright-Gonzales and her husband Reyes, six grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren, two nephews, Phillip Bartlett of Vernon, Mike Bartlett of Canada, and Suzanne Deaderick of Austin, and three great nephews.
Pallbearers will be Terry Lancaster, Freddie Willie, Reyes Gonzales, Chad and Brad Lancaster, and Freddie Willie, Jr. Honorary pallbearers will be Morris Winkle, Oliver Girvin, Hugh Woodard, Jon Steffins, Barny Bandekow.
Family will receive friends from 6-8 P.M., Wednesday, February 8, 2012 at Cook Walden Capital Parks Funeral Home. Services will be held at 1 P.M., Thursday, February 9, 2012 at Cook Walden Capital Parks Memorial Chapel with Dr. Jim Rigby officiating.
