

Alice is survived by her children, Katherine Pemberton (Gary) of Pflugerville, Donnie Ross (Cheryl) of Georgetown, Michael Ross of Austin, and Barbara Wallace (Jeff) of Pflugerville; sister, Florence Caskey of Florence, Texas; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, O.E. Ross, son, James Edward, and six siblings.
Alice was born on September 10, 1921 in Georgetown, Texas to Robert Preston and Florence Chambers. She graduated from Georgetown High School. She married Osia (Eddie) Ross on January 6, 1942 in Austin, where she lived for the rest of her life. She was employed by the State of Texas for a number of years. During their marriage, the couple welcomed five children into their home. Her children remember her as a kind, gentle, patient mother who encouraged them to pursue their goals.
Alice was accomplished at sewing and crafts and often bestowed items of her handiwork on family and friends. She was a generous and dedicated individual who loved everyone and who was passionate about giving them the love and encouragement they needed. She was a member of St. Mark United Methodist Church.
The funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 16, 2016 at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home, with Pastor Kim Ethridge officiating the ceremony. She will be laid to rest at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to St. Mark United Methodist Church, 601 W. Braker Lane, Austin, Texas 78753.
