Brett is survived by his two loving boys, Penn Abegglen and Jaxon Abegglen. He also leaves behind his mother, Melody Abegglen; his brothers, Troy Abegglen and Drew Abegglen; his sisters, Jaime Abegglen and Karene Burnett. Also, his sister-in-law, Kathy Abegglen; brother-in-law, Jason Burnett, and his many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his Father, Robert Lewis Abegglen, and his brother, Erik Clark Abegglen.
Brett was passionate about his sons, living life to the fullest and fishing which he enjoyed as often as he could. While his sons were the heart of his life, he had a great love of the ocean. This love carried over into his daily life with images, trophies, and fishing gear permeating his homes. Brett was a wild spirit loved by many. We will all miss him dearly.
Brett worked as a Senior Account Executive with Smith, a global leader in semiconductor chip brokering. He was known there for his lively personality and never-ending love for his two sons, Penn and Jaxon. Smith had this to say about his passing, "Brett was full of energy and had so much natural ability that sales, I think in some sense, came easy for him – he was just really good at it,” said Todd Burke, President – Americas. “His innate ability to connect with people on a very real level combined with a good heart, yielded deep, long-lasting relationships; not simply working relationships, but much more than that – Brett’s customers were his really good friends. It’s been said that you know you’ve succeeded in the sales profession when your customers don’t consider you a vendor, but a friend, and Brett certainly succeeded with that. He had a down-to-earth personality and a passion for fishing. He loved his boys more than anything on Earth and would do anything for them. Our sympathy and deepest condolences go out to his whole family in this very difficult time. Brett will be dearly missed.”
Brett will be deeply missed by his family, and they will take on the task of looking after his sons and his loved ones in his absence.
A funeral service for Brett will begin at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, December 8, 2022 at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home, 14501 North Interstate 35, Pflugerville, Texas. Brett will then be laid to rest in the Waters Edge Estates section of Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Cemetery.
