Bruce Earl Troutman, Sr., a native Austinite, passed away on Friday, May 3, 2013 in Austin, Texas at the age of 76. He was born November 11, 1936 to Alfred and Jessie Troutman, who both predeceased him. He attended Austin High School and afterward served his country in the U.S. Marine Corp.
He married Ellen Pauline Bethel on May 12, 1961 in Austin, Texas and they shared 52 beautiful years of life together. Bruce was a talented carpenter and after working for various companies and working with his brother Alfred, he and his wife eventually enjoyed self-employment before retirement.
Bruce leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Ellen Pauline Troutman; daughters, Melody Lee Gibson and Wendy Dawn Cottrell and husband Jeffery; son, Bruce Earl Troutman Jr. and wife Cheryle; step-son, Ricky Bowen and wife Donna; grandchildren, Keeven Gibson and Kacey Gibson; great-grandchild, Treydon Sheffield; four brothers; five sisters; and many cousins, nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his brother, Alfred S. Troutman and his sister, Lorraine Funderburke.
A funeral service with military honors will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 8, 2013 at Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery, 11463 State Highway 195 in Killeen, Texas.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
