

Carl enlisted as a Private in the Texas Army National Guard in 1987; deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan and rose to the rank of Lieutenant Colonel and commanded the 3rd Battalion 141st Infantry Regiment, Weslaco, TX. He lived for the Lord and to serve others, he will be remembered for his kindness and generosity. Carl was a humble man who loved his family, wanted the best for his children and did everything he could to support their dreams.
He graduated from Queen City High School in 1988, earned a Bachelor’s Degree from Texas A&M University Texarkana in 1999 and a Master’s Degree from Central Michigan University in 2013. Carl enjoyed reading, traveling, fishing with friends and cars.
Carl is survived by his wife Melissa; children, Nicholas, Bradley and Makalya; grandchildren, Kason and Colton; father, Don and Stepmother Linda; siblings, Danette, Robert, Bill, Gary, and Chris.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m., Wednesday, July 19, 2017 at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home in Pflugerville, Texas. Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, July 20, 2017 at First Baptist Church in Pflugerville; burial will follow at 2:00 p.m. at Central Texas Veterans Cemetery in Kileen.
In lieu of flowers, gifts will be used to honor Carl’s memory.
