

Carmen Anna Martin Gruesen of Cedar Park, Texas, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 25, 2026, at the age of 96. Born on July 11, 1929, to Lily and Lewis Mokry of Granger, Texas, Carmen spent her early childhood in Granger. At the age of 10, she and her family relocated to Austin, Texas.
Carmen graduated from Austin High School in 1948. After school, she worked as a draftswoman for Southwestern Bell until 1991.
Carmen was a vibrant member of her community, actively involved in the Lions Club and the Friendship Club, where she formed strong bonds and lifelong friendships. She also found great joy in gardening and rock work, spending countless hours cultivating beauty and creativity in her surroundings.
Carmen is preceded in death by her husbands, Ray Martin, Max Seim, and Marvin Gruesen; mother, Lily Mokry; father, Lewis Mokry; and sisters, Irma Ponder and Libby Davis.
Carmen leaves behind a legacy of love in her three sons, Gordon Martin, Joe Martin, and Dan Martin; her grandsons, Chris Martin, David Martin, and Cayden Martin; her granddaughter, Makenna Martin; three cherished great-granddaughters, one adored great-grandson, and a host of beloved nieces and nephews.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the Enclave at Cedar Park and Altus Hospice for the exceptional care and compassion they provided to Carmen in her final days. Special thanks are also given to Lakeline Oaks Independent Living for the unwavering support and kindness shown to her throughout her time there.
Visitation will be held at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home, 14501 North Interstate 35, Pflugerville, Texas 78660, on July 1, 2026, from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm, followed by a Funeral Service at the same location on July 1, 2026, at 12:30 pm.
A Committal Service will take place at Cook Walden Memorial Hill, 13700 North Interstate 35, Pflugerville, Texas 78660, on July 1, 2026, at 1:30 pm.
