Cathie was a spunky, beautiful woman with a big personality, a sharp wit, and a wonderful sense of humor. Her family affectionately called her “crazy,” a label she energetically embraced—often responding, “Well, if I am, we ALL are!” Small in stature but loud when she wanted her voice heard, Cathie never let people walk on her and was never afraid to stand her ground.
She was a woman of faith who believed deeply in God and found comfort in her spirituality. Cathie is now in Heaven and in the loving embrace of her parents, Sally and Raymond; her beloved grandmother, Clementina; and her cherished Aunt Mimi.
Cathie loved her children fiercely and was always willing to tag along on any adventure she was invited on. Curious by nature and enthusiastic about life, she rarely said no to a new experience. Her lifelong passion for travel began as a Geography major and carried her into the skies as a flight attendant for Pan Am Airlines. She later continued helping others explore the world as a travel agent. During her 20-year marriage, she also experienced the unique life—and perks—of being the wife of Secret Service agent William “Bill” G. Driscoll while living in Washington, D.C.
She had many interests and pleasures. Cathie was fascinated by marketing and sales, enjoyed floral arranging, loved cooking and gardening, and delighted in ice skating. She had a special fondness for cats and anything to do with giraffes. She dreamed of financial freedom and “the high life,” carrying that aspirational spark with her throughout her years. She truly loved food—from her morning Orange Pekoe tea and English muffin with jam to BBQ, Hershey’s Almond Bars, pistachios, Cheetos, Entenmann’s coffee cake, and peppermint ice cream. Food, like life, was meant to be enjoyed.
Her favorite color was green, and she had a particular love for a good brooch, always appreciating the small details that added personality and flair.
Cathie was a strong advocate for education and believed deeply in the power of learning and opportunity. In lieu of flowers or charitable donations, the family invites those who wish to honor her memory to donate a backpack or school supplies, which will be given to students in Pflugerville Independent School District, helping children begin their school year with confidence and dignity.
Cathie is survived by her two children, William “Kit” Christopher Driscoll (Annika) and Theresa “Teri” Kathleen Driscoll (Caleb); her sister, Kitty; and her brothers, Peter and Christopher. She was a devoted grandmother to William Finnigan and Alastair William-George, who brought her immense pride and joy. Above all, she loved her family. She was a sister, mother, and grandmother who did the best she could.
The latter half of Cathie’s life was marked by significant challenges, as mental illness and dementia gradually changed her world. While these struggles were part of her story, they do not define the life she lived—one filled with independence, humor, ambition, faith, and an abundance of adventures.
A funeral service will be held at Cook-Walden Capital Parks in Pflugerville on Sunday, January 11, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. A brief service will be followed by burial at the cemetery.
Cathie will be loved always and missed greatly. Her memory will live on through the stories—oh, the many stories—shared by all who knew her.
