Catherine Belle Morrison was born on May 27, 1939, in LIttle Rock, Arkansas, to the late Tyree and Katie P. Travis. Her soul entered God’s presence on July 4, 2026, at the age of 87. Catherine was a resident of Round Rock, Texas.
Catherine accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized and united in fellowship at Gospel Temple Baptist Church in Little Rock Arkansas. Her faith was steady and deeply rooted, expressed through a life of service and thoughtful devotion. For ten years, she was a devoted Bible study student with Bible Study Fellowship, an international study group. After moving in 1995, she gave her time as a volunteer with Faith In Action and Hospice of Austin, offering care and compassion to others in meaningful, practical ways.
Catherine’s working life reflected the same diligence and commitment. She served for thirty-one years with the Veterans Affairs Hospital of North Little Rock Division. She moved to Austin to be near her family, and continued working as a Licensed Vocational Nurse at North Austin Hospital and Trinity Care Center until 2009.
Catherine celebrated life with gratitude to God, sharing His goodness with others. She found joy in reading memoirs, listening to all types of music, attending theatrical performances, and taking part in family activities—simple pleasures that reflected a spirit attentive to both learning and togetherness.
Catherine was preceded in death by her mother, Katie P Travis; her father, Tyree Travis; and two brothers, Arthur and Jesse Agnew.
Catherine leaves to cherish her memory: son Gerald Morrison; daughters Kathrine Harshaw and her husband Wayne, and Regina Acheampong; five grandchildren; three great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews in Arkansas, Florida and Texas; and her sister in love in Christ, Henrene Agnew (Jessi’s widow.)
