Charles was an auditor with the Texas Education Agency until his retirement in 1993. His greatest pleasure was being with his family and friends. Charles also enjoyed traveling, country music, old western movies and his beloved dog, Bali.
Charles was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his best friend, Dixie Campbell of Austin, TX; brother, Jody Rowlen (Lyn) of Russellville, AR; sisters, Mary Lewis of New Braunfels, TX and Shirley Montgomery of Austin, TX; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 3 to 5 p.m., Monday, May 30, 2011 at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home in Pflugerville. Funeral service will be Tuesday at 1 p.m. in the Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with burial to follow at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Cemetery.
