Charles Roy Shelby Jr.

Charles Roy Shelby Jr. was born December 8, 1970, to his loving parents, Cynthia Ann Shelby and Charles Shelby Sr. Charles was introduced to Christ at an early age and attended Greater Love Baptist Church, Austin, Texas.

Charles received his formal education from Austin Independent School District. He graduated from Anderson High School, Austin, TX, in 1989 and then attended Kilgore College in Kilgore, TX, where he studied Business Administration.

On June 11, 2011, Charles entered into Holy Matrimony with his wife, Anitra Shelby. Their union was blended with the blessings of four children: Tavoris Murry, German Rodriguez, T'Mira Shelby and Hydeia Rodriguez; six grandchildren, Adalynn, Jeramiah, Elianna, K'Lynn, Kali, Kai, and their fur baby, Cookie.

Charles was employed by Texas Disposal Solution until his departure. Shelby served proudly as Senior Warden of the John G. Jones 1903 Masonic Lodge and Worthy Patron of the Order of the Eastern Star, Daughters of Divinity No. 9. Charles was also a member of The Boneheads Motorcycle Club for more than twenty years, where he served as Road Captain.

Charles loved life, loved his family, his friends, and knew not a stranger. His greatest accomplishments were being an amazing Pop-Pop to his grandchildren and husband to his wife. His humble, caring spirit and infectious smile will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Shelby is preceded in death by his grandparents, Willie Ola and Hamp Donald and his parents, Cynthia and Charles Shelby Sr. He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of seventeen years, Anitra Shelby; his children and grandchildren; three siblings, Anthony Shelby, Cindy Williams (Robert) and Quincy Harris; four nieces and nephews, Shelby Williams, Spenser Williams, Tilar Harris-Young and Jadin Shelby; The John G. Jones 1903 Masonic, OES, Daughters of Divinity No. 9, The Bonehead Motorcycle Club, and a host of relatives and friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 7, 2026, at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home in Pflugerville.
