

He was a proud veteran of the Vietnam Era, and after serving in the U.S. Army, Chuck became a welder. In his earlier years, he enjoyed fishing and the outdoors. Chuck was preceded in death by his sisters, Deborah June Freeman and Jo Yvonne Polkda.
He is survived by his loving wife, Wanda Faye Hicks and by his children, Anita Hicks, Tracy E. Hicks, Henry C. Hicks and Amanda J. Hicks. Also carrying on his passion for life are his grandsons, Christopher Hicks, Dago Garcia, Patrick Hicks and Francis Hicks. He also leaves behind a sister, Loretta Faye Freeman of Beeville, Texas, along with other extended family and many friends.
Visitation will be from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 29, 2011, at the Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home in Pflugerville. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, March 30, 2011 at the Memorial Chapel of the Funeral Home. Committal services with military honors will follow at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the American Diabetes Association.
