Clara Lou Bennett was born Clara Lou Baker to Thomas H. Baker and Harriet Monabelle Timblin on January 19th, 1932 in New Kensington, Pennsylvania.
After a tumultuous childhood and teen years she made her way to Texas with her children, Danny and Ruth, and found an everlasting relationship with George Bennett.
Since George was in the Air Force, Clara found herself working at the NCO Club at Hof AFB in
Hof, Germany from 1968-1971. Once returning to the states she would begin working at the Officer's Club and Bowling Alley at Bergstrom AFB until she retired.
After retirement she kept herself busy by babysitting and watching several children grow into adults.
Capital City Baptist Church was a significant part of her life for over 30 years. Known as Grandma Clara. She loved her church, everyone in it, and they all loved her.
She is survived by a son; Daniel Bennett of San Angelo Texas and a daughter; Ruth Moore of Austin Texas. She is also survived 3 Grandchildren: Jennifer Moore – Austin Texas, William Moore – Phoenix Arizona, Tim Moore – Copperas Cove Texas, and 1 Great Grandchild Samantha Moore – Copperas Cove Texas.
A funeral service will begin at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, April 25, 2019 in The Memorial Chapel of Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home in Pflugerville, Texas with Reverend Adam Thompson officiating. She will then be laid to rest in Cook-Walden/Memorial Hill Cemetery.
