

Clarence Arnold Winter, 90, of Austin, Texas passed away on February 13, 2023. He was born in Thorndale, Texas on February 17, 1932. He married Lillie Louise Wernecke on June 22, 1957, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Giddings, Texas.
He joined the U.S. Navy at 17 and was assigned to the U.S.S. Yancey. He served for 4 years with an Honorable Discharge. Clarence worked for the Texas Department of Transportation for 37 years. He was a faithful member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Austin, Texas for over 60 years.
Clarence enjoyed gardening, fishing, and playing dominoes. He loved to figure out how things work and come up with creative solutions to problems.
He is survived by his wife, Lillie, and his daughters: Sharon (Steve) Douglas, Sandra (Pat) Reynolds, Suzanne (Jim) Sunvison, Cindy (Louis) Turi, Cathy (Kirk) Jonse, and Carol Winter. He has ten grandchildren: Christen, Garrett, Shannon, Scott, Kevin, Corey, Kyle, Ryan, Brett, and Sarah. He also has nine great-grandchildren: Joshua, Samantha, Parker, Easton, Sophie, Remy, James, Henry, and Brooks.
He was preceded in death by his parents John and Ella Winter and his brother Bill Winters.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church, 3501 Red River St, Austin, TX 78705.
A visitation for Clarence will be held Monday, February 20, 2023 from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home, 14501 North Interstate 35, Pflugerville, Texas 78660. A funeral service will occur Monday, February 20, 2023 at 2:00 p.m., 14501 North Interstate 35, Pflugerville, Texas 78660. A committal service will follow at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Cemetery in Pflugerville, Texas.
Serving as pallbearers are Garrett Jonse, Scott Douglas, Kevin Turi, Corey Turi, Kyle Turi, Ryan Sunvison and Brett Sunvison.
