

A veteran of WWII, he served in the Army Air Corps as a private first-class from 1943 until he was honorably discharged in 1946.
He was happily married to the love of his life, Vera (Connie) for more than 68 years. Clyde began a career in Sheet Metal & Roofing while in the military, and began a business in Austin, Texas in 1968 called General Sheet Metal, Inc. He retired in 1987 and was a rancher for many years in Central Texas. He was an avid sportsman who loved to fish, deer hunt and golf with an enthusiastic passion for football, especially his Dallas Cowboys.
He was the father of 4 children, a daughter Bobbie and husband Fred Zwerneman; and three sons and their wives, Danny and Darlene, Dale and Orelia, and Tommy and Sharon Johnson.
His 15 grandchildren include: Joe Johnson, Brandon Johnson, Heath Johnson, Jake Johnson, Laura Smetzer, Stacey Zwerneman, Derick Zwerneman, Luke Johnson, Mark Johnson, Mandy Shipley, David Garza, Jeremy Johnson, Rowdy Calvert, Autumn Allen and Trae Calvert. In addition, he was the great-grandfather of 26.
A dearly loved husband, father and grandfather, he left many wonderful memories of a life lived with great affection and concern for those he loved. He will be sorely missed by those whose lives he so lovingly touched.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 16, 2013 at 1:00 pm, at the Hill Country Fellowship Church in Burnet, Texas.
