

Constance “Connie” Dianne Buckner, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on June 8, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family. Born on June 6, 1946, in Austin, Texas, Connie was proud to call Austin her hometown, where she was born, raised, and spent most of her life.
Connie dedicated 25 years of service to the City of Austin. Through her hard work, dedication, and commitment to serving her community, she earned the respect and admiration of her colleagues and formed many lasting friendships.
While she was proud of her career, Connie’s greatest accomplishment and deepest joy was her family. She loved her family with all her heart and devoted herself to supporting, encouraging, and caring for those she loved. Her kindness, strength, and unwavering love touched the lives of everyone fortunate enough to know her.
Connie was preceded in death by her parents, Vernon and Marie Arnhamn; her step-father Luther Allen “Jackie”; her former husband Elton Don Buckner; her beloved son, Marcus Buckner and niece, Sheri Hemphill.
She is survived by her son, Wes Buckner and wife Christina Buckner; daughter, Shelley Buckner and husband KC Gardner; her daughter-in-law, Nicole Buckner; her sister, Patsy Walker; her beautiful grandchildren, Melissa and Marissa Buckner, Kelsey Penner and husband Joshua Penner, Hannah and Shelby Gardner; and her cherished great-grandsons, Jackson Webb, Maddox and Kingston Penner; and her dog and special companion Ollie.
Connie’s legacy is one of love, devotion, and family. She will be remembered for her generous heart, her strength, her sense of humor, and the countless ways she made those around her feel loved and valued. Though she will be deeply missed, her memory will live on through the family she cherished and the many lives she touched.
Her family takes comfort in knowing that the love she shared and the values she instilled will continue to guide them for generations to come.

Visitation will be held at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home, 14501 North Interstate 35, Pflugerville, Texas 78660, on June 22, 2026, from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
A Funeral Service will take place at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home, 14501 North Interstate 35, Pflugerville, Texas 78660, on June 23, 2026, at 10:00 am, followed by a Committal Service at Cook-Walden Capital Parks Cemetery, 14501 North Interstate 35, Pflugerville, Texas 78660, on June 23, 2026, at 11:00 am.
A Reception will follow at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home, ~Capital Room~, 14501 North Interstate 35, Pflugerville, Texas 78660, on June 23, 2026, at 12:00 pm.
