Corlea Muriel Bunch passed away on April 21, 2014 in Round Rock, Texas. Born on March 7, 1929 in Prairie Hill, Texas to Parker Boyett and Una Mae Dunson Boyett, she was one of four children who lived a simple life growing up during the Depression.
When she was 20, she was admitted to the hospital with tuberculosis. Charles Bunch went with his friend to the hospital to visit his friend’s wife. His friend's wife was roommates with Corlea in the hospital. After Charles and Corlea met, their relationship developed through the letters they wrote to one another. Charles proposed marriage via a letter to Corlea and she accepted in a letter of her own. After the couple was married, they were stationed in Pennsylvania.
In Pine Bluff, Arkansas they started a family business in the early 1950’s where she played a vital role in operations. Underneath the soft-spoken meek lady was a strong woman. Corlea had a caring disposition toward life. She never complained and was always sacrificing by putting others’ needs before her own.
Corlea moved to Austin to be close to her family in 1998. She had a strong Christian faith and instilled that in her family. She continued to touch people’s lives everywhere she went and will be missed by all who knew her.
Corlea was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Bunch and son, David Bunch.
Leaving to cherish her memories is her daughter, Elizabeth Ann Miller; son, Paul Bunch; grandchildren, Clayton Bethel, Hayden Miller and Kyle Miller, Katherine Bunch, Genni Bunch, David Bunch and Desiree Bunch; numerous great-grandchildren; sister, Jimmie Dickinson; brothers, George Moore and Franklin Moore.
The family wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you to their family friend Barbara Souer for her compassion and kindness, knowledge, and loving willingness to assist the family over the years.
