Courtney will be sadly missed by all who ever came into contact with her as she made everyone feel welcome with a subtle smile, contagious laugh, gentle embrace, and kind words. She always saw the positive side and believed that everyone was good. She fought for the innocent, lent a helping hand to anyone who needed it, and wore her heart on her sleeve. Helping others was her calling.
She loved a little bit of everything. Whether it be cowboy boots and dancing, eating turkey sandwiches with only mayo and onion, hiking Texas hills, going to the beach, pool parties and water basketball, late night game nights, family holiday get togethers, dressing up as an elf at Christmas, jumping out of airplanes, Wednesday date nights with her cousin, and gambling at Winstar. She was young at heart as she always found joy in playing with and teaching special needs children, laughing about the stupidity of reality tv, watching as many movies and TV shows, to include Japanese anime, as she could take in, Chip & Dale, Minions, Stitch, and everything Disney. As an avid animal lover, she was always looking out for pets that were lost and playing with pets that were not. She loved to organize fantasy football, cheering on the Texans, and playing basketball striving to be the best defensive player every season. The list goes on and on. She loved the indoors and outdoors and everything in between. She loved life.
She obtained her Bachelor’s Degree at Texas State University and joined the Army National Guard as a Parachute Rigger, which were two of her life goals. She was a compassionate, caring, loyal, and humble soul that will be truly missed. She has now gained another pair of wings as an angel in heaven watching over all of her family and friends. Until we meet again. As Courtney says, “nothing hits as hard as life, so train to hit back and fight harder.”
Courtney is survived by her loving parents, Diane and Lynn; her adoring wife, Melody; her beloved cousin Jennifer and her family Dave, Brandon, and Cory; her cherished Aunt Doris and Uncle Leroy; her Mother-in-Law, Pat, her brother- and sister-in laws and their families, and her fur babies Andre, Chase, Crash, and Skeets.
Friends are invited to share their memories of Courtney with her family on Wednesday, January 8, 2020 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home, 14501 North Interstate 35, Pflugerville, Texas 78660.
A Graveside service will be conducted at a later date at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Cemetery where military honors will be afforded by the United States Active Duty National Guard.

We would like to thank each and every doctor, nurse, and staff at the Christopher House for their compassion and strength to help individuals through their last stages of life. Courtney’s last couple days and nights were able to be filled with family as the rooms are set up to provide families a comfortable atmosphere and overnight stay. A special shout out to Kendra and Kiesha for taking excellent care of Courtney, taking time to talk with her, to get to know who she was as a person, and making sure she was pain free.
In lieu of flowers or cards, the family would appreciate a donation in Courtney’s name to Hospice Austin's Christopher House, an alternative to a hospital and short term facility that helps patients manage symptoms on a 24-hour basis before returning home.
