

Born January 21, 1969 in Council Bluffs, Iowa, Craig was the son of Kay Marling and Paul Ryan. Craig received his Bachelor’s degree from Iowa State University and went on to receive his MBA from the University of Nebraska at Omaha. Craig loved to travel and spent several college semesters abroad, which included semesters in Paris and Leon, France, Switzerland, Spain and Mexico. After his graduation, Craig moved to Austin in the early 90s.
An educator in the true sense of the word, Craig spoke five languages. After moving to Austin, Craig was employed as the manager of the Language Center of Austin and later by Adams Translation, where he was able to share and use his talent. Craig was currently employed by the Manhattan Review as a tutor on the college level.
Craig had a love for music, particularly the guitar. He spent his spare time restoring guitars, and recently was a vendor at the South by Southwest Music Festival. Craig also enjoyed reading, favoring history and political history.
Craig is survived by his mother, Kay Marling and her husband, Charles; father, Paul Ryan; sister, Paula Tiffin and her husband Mike along with their daughter Alissa; brother, Mark Ryan and his wife, Shelli; along with other loving relatives and dear friends.
A memorial visitation of remembrance will be held between 6:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 1, 2014 at the Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home in Pflugerville.
For those desiring, memorial contributions are suggested to the American Cancer Society in honor of Craig’s sister, a cancer survivor.
