Daisy Marie was born on August 29, 1924 to Isom & Mattie Rowe, Sr. in Bastrop County, Texas. She departed this life on September 5, 2019. She professed a hope in Christ at an early age and was baptized by the late Reverend Authur De Witty. She later joined St. John College Heights Baptist Church under the leadership of the late pastor Reverend W.M. Reed. She attended until her health failed. Daisy attended school in the Manor School District. Her life’s work was as a domestic worker in the Austin area and at Phi Gamma Delta fraternity at U.T. of Austin. Member of Mount Carmel Grand Lodge, OES Rose of Sharon Chapter. Proceeding her in death are her parents; her late husband, Reverend Enry L.V. Ates; 2 daughters; 1 son; 4 brothers and 3 sisters. Daisy leaves to cherish her memories and celebrate her homegoing 3 daughters, Yvonne Wright, Debra Plummer (Austin, Texas) Dorothy Daniels Parker (Grand Prarire, Texas); 2 sons Velmont Jones Jr. (Mary) Houston Texas and Harvey C. Jones (Donna) Buda Texas; 1 special granddaughter, Yolanda Jones (Georgetown, Texas); 3 special grandsons, Brian Jones, Anthony Daniels and Eric Martin; 23 grandchildren; 55 great-grandchildren, 55 great-great grandchildren and 1 great-great-great granddaughter; a special niece, Sandra Jackson; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

A celebration of her life will be held at St. John's Tabernacle Church, 7501 Blessings Avenue, Austin, Texas, 78752 on Saturday, September 14, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Michael D. Harvey officiating. The committal service will be at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Cemetery, 14501 North Interstate Highway 35, Pflugerville, Texas 78660.
