You were my 1st real supervisor, and I learned so much from you. The lessons you taught me will forever be with me, I use them every day.

A candle was lit in your memory in China,on Feb 5th.Mary Elizabeth misses you just as much as I do.I know you would have laughed and had much good material to use in your wonderful verbal scathing style in this weird political cycle we are suffering through.I miss what could have been had you not left us.I think about you all the time every time something strange or wonderful occurs.You would have enjoyed it,and I would have enjoyed it along with you.You are not forgotten.

Damon loved his family and his friends with all his heart. He was such an important part of our lives. I miss our late night telephone calls. He knew literature, film, history, languages, along with pop culture. It was so wonderful when he got going and used every bit of that intellectual arsenal. I will miss him always and cherish my 25 years of his beautiful friendship. I hope someday to have him explain the afterlife to me.

I am so sorry to hear of Damon's passing. He was an amazing person and it is unfair for the world to lose such a bright light! My thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends.

I met Damon 27 years ago and am so sorry to hear of his passing.  Damon was kind, thoughtful, and witty.  His laughter was infectious.  You will be missed, Damon.

Dear Damon,

You will be missed my old friend.  Although we did not talk often, when we spoke it was just like we talked every day.  You are such a kind person with a big beautiful heart and as you are looking down now, you know how much we all miss you.  Travel peacefully in your journey through Heaven.

Damon touched my life and the life of my loved ones with his humanness, his outspoken compassion, and his joie de vivre. Certainly, this world is a little less bright and warm without him here. I am thankful to have known him!

My thoughts and prayers go out to Damon's family and friends. I'm a better person for having known him in those rocky teenage years. I will remember his smile, his laughter, his joy, his kindness, his great (and sometimes scathing) wit, his unapologetic originality, his openness, and his capacity to love and forgive. We have lost a truly remarkable human being and friend.

As teens, Damon and I shared a mutual obsession for Brideshead Revisited, Carol Burnett and General Hospital. We were literary and Anglophile fans, with a bizarre fascination with Gone With the Wind. In our junior high library, he once professed his love for me, but I understood it as a bond of two close friends that he was experiencing. His flamboyant style always kept me in awe of his unabashed courage and it was always entertaining to see him attempt to wrangle his classmates into some sort of civility, without much success, I'm afraid. Damon,you were my dearest friend.Always there for me through my own loss and the new challanges of navigating a life with disablity.You made me laugh,cry and taught me that joy is where you find it.Not to give up and that true friends are rare and to hold them close.I`ll always hold you close to me  until we meet again.You left me with wonderful memories and for that and all the great advice you were so good at giving I love you.Godspeed my dear friend.

Damon!! You will be truly missed! I know when we met 6 years ago we had a rocky start, but once we got to know each other we had a lot of fun! I am so very sorry to Damon's family and friends.  The world is a little less fabulous now.

My most sincere condolences to the family.  Damon was a great friend and wonderful co-worker.  He will be sorely missed.  Damon was genuine, warmhearted, and as everyone that knew him can attest, a gentleman and scholar. I count it an honor to have known him and called him friend.
