Daniel Gene Hager

Our beloved son, Daniel, passed away on June 19, 2022, at the age of 27 in his hometown of Austin, Texas. He is survived by his parents, Delmar and Linda Hager, and four sisters and their families: Charlotte and Adam Embry and their six children, Ruthann and Seth Guenther and their three children, Regina and Josh Martinez and their three children, and Laela Hager. He is preceded in death by his oldest sister, Aleesha Lundberg.

Growing up, Daniel enjoyed camping with his family, Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts with his dad in Troop 729, which involved canoeing, many more camping trips, and just fun with the guys. He kept busy bicycling, reading, playing video games, and doing church youth activities in his spare time. After high school, Daniel attended Austin Community College. He then worked at various jobs, the most recent being at Resale Resource.

Daniel had a great interest in philosophy, and he learned much from Michael Jones and his “Inspiring Philosophy” ministry. Daniel and his girlfriend, Iva Millsap, attended Milwood Baptist Church, as well as their young adult LifeGroup. Iva was the joy of his life, and they always had a busy schedule of activities to attend together. They loved socializing with friends at their Social Creativity classes offered through EasterSeals, hiking, taking the Amtrack to explore new places, going on double dates, and eating great Austin food. He had a great sense of humor and loved to laugh. Daniel was greatly loved and will be missed by many.

A memorial service for Daniel will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 9, 2022 at Milwood Baptist Church, 12217 Cassady Dr., Austin, Texas 78727.
