

Daniel (Dan) M. Pyburn, Jr., 84, of Austin, Texas went home to be with the Lord on 29 December 2019. He was born in Austin, Texas on 11 June 1935 to Irene Dorothy Mill-Pyburn and Daniel Pyburn. Dan graduated from Travis High School with High School Diploma. He worked as a freelance animation and graphic artists for local businesses. He was a member of St. Annie AME church and had a passion for art, giving and helping others. Dan was also better known as “Old Santa Claus, “Pudding Man” and “Mr. Bingo”. Some of his favorite things were Coca Cola, Pudding Cups, Moon Pies, Hot Dogs, Short Stop Catfish Dinner, playing Bingo with his sister Doris Revada, and spending time with family and friends, especially his nephew James Leland Revada.
Dan really loved his family dearly and would do anything to make them all laugh. Dan was an extraordinary unsung animation artist who had an opportunity to work for Walt Disney but choose to stay close to home to support his family. Dan was a thoughtful and generous person who shared everything with his family and friends especially coca cola, money, and his food. Dan did not believe in anyone being left alone because he would make sure everyone around him felt loved and cared for. Dan dedicated his life to serving others and being a channel of blessing to those around him. Dan’s special gift was the gift of giving which so many tend to forget, but not Dan, he gave even when he did not have the means by spreading his love for life with others daily. Dan was the definition of a generous giver according to 2 Corinthians 9:7 “Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver” (KJV). A cheerful giver indeed.
Dan was preceded in death by his parents Daniel and Irene Pyburn, Three sisters, Louise Thompson, Earline Robertson, Pearlie Mae White, and his brother Ollie Pyburn. He leaves behind in the Kingdom of God on earth three sisters Doris Revada, Pauline Morris, Shirley Brown and a host of relatives and friends to cherish his good-time memories his shared with all.
