Wow, my old friend, was looking you up to get in touch after all the yrs and didn't expect to find you here. Not sure what made me think of you , just wanted to talk about old times and all the fun we had back in the day. 1980's were some good yrs.  I see you had a good life and a wife that loved you very much. Why did I wait so long , I'll never know, I'm sure your dancing up a storm in heaven. Miss you bud. Wish I could've said goodbye.

Just a little word to say you are always in my heart and I know that many miss and love you very much.  I have my sweet memories I'll cherish.  Having you living in my home I grew to love you and your family.  God is a mighty God and I pray you are with Him .  I have my pictures and poem I'll forever cherish.  I pray for the grief of your son , and loved ones.  In Heaven you'll meet again.  My sweet Danny sure missed those hugs and that smile.  In glory we'll dance again.

Poppy, I had to gather my composure for another entry. EVERY SECOND, MINUTE, HOUR OF EACH DAY AND NIGHT I feel the loss of you not being in my life. It has been five agonizing years of sorrow and heartbreak. People lied! My grief does not get better with time. My soul cries about things we had yet to do. I miss all the good things that made up the best of you and what you truly were. There are more things than bad things that made you my soulmate. I have tried to move on and have a happy life; but without you, true happiness is evading me...because you are not here to share it with.

I am having a much stronger cross made to erect at the wreck site; so vandals cannot desecrate the area by kicking down and breaking the cross and stealing everything that I had left for you.

You know how sad I am and continue to think of quicker ways to get near you. Until I do something drastic, I know that every breath I take gets me that much closer to being with you and my fuzzy, finned, and scaly babies that I hope are with you keeping you busy...lol

Poppy, I ask others, when will the unbearable pain and sorrow stop? I hear no replies.  When will I be able to look at pictures or videos and remember your funny loving beautiful self without crying my eyes out? I am trying to move on with my life, but I find it difficult.  I can "move on" but I cannot "get over" losing you and the life we had planned. I miss you soooo very much. 

I still have over 50% of your clothing; some of which, I will probably keep for a long time. I guess keeping them allows me to dream that somehow you will return. I truly do not know why. I cry and cry when I place items in boxes. I have three boxes packed to take to your mom's. I've had them going on two months.

Without you and the job that I once loved there's no love for Austin --- only sadness. I am going to "puddle jump" again.  I pass the wreck site coming and going from the house. It is gut wrenching. I cannot stand it anymore; so I've decided to get the ball rolling towards selling the house.

I feel like Austin is sucking the joy out of my life.

I know you already know all of this; but writing this helps me a lot.

I am truly bonded in love with you now and always.

Poppy, I have been trying to find the words to write since May 15th. I love you madly and still miss you everyday. I still cry 2-5 times a week. It is a struggle for me living a life without you. I miss your hugs, smile, voice, your love, dancing, and your spark. I know you are sad about the state of your yard. You took great pride in keeping it beautiful; and I simply don't care. I could never do it like you anyway. I can no longer ballroom dance because I don't have you as my partner/lead/coach. My memories of you leave me crying. Your clothes are still in your closet and probably will be for a long, long time; maybe forever. I still have your shoes and your tree full of ties. I miss my "Pretty Ricky" when you got all dressed up. Songs still make me cry. When I drive by the wreck site I look over at the spot. The fuzzy babies miss you; especially your Dancer and Cookie. I still keep the last ten voicemails you left me. It still makes me way too sad to listen to them very often, but I do when I'm strong. Even though we cannot grow old together, we kind of do anyway because my heart will never let you go. What helps me live each day is the affirmation I wrote:

My good friend,here we are just over 2 years since you left us and I still think about you and ALL the good times we had together. Sleeping in the car in San Antonio, running out of gas on I-35 and walking over 3 miles to find the only gas station closed. Getting locked out of our own apartment with nothing on but a pair of shorts. Hahaha
I miss you DJ, I miss not being able to call you and reminisce about all of our good times. Just wanted to express my thoughts again after so many years of you being around.

 My Sweet Danny, I was thinking about you on Wednesday, I was going thru all my pic of you and the ones of you and me and you and our friends, I can't believe it had been a year,I miss you now more then ever, I love and miss you more then you will know, days with you were some of the happiest. I just found out of Danny's journey home...it was like a punch to my stomach and shocked me to the core. I was  extremely fond of Danny. He was great to be around and fun to be with. Danny was part of my dance crew for many years in the late 80's and early 90's...we catered to the Austin,Killeen,Temple and Waco areas. I will miss Danny and I will remember him for the rest of my life and so will the crew. Our condolences and prayers to all his family and may God's blessings always be with him and his family.

What do you say about Danny? I knew D.J. when he was in Arlington and living in Fort Worth years ago. He was the most fun loving and energetic person I have ever met. He had such talent and had such a love for life and danced like no one else I had ever met. To his family and friends....I am truly sorry, I can assure you he is dancing down the streets of gold. The memory of his smiling face will be with me forever.

So sad to hear the news; another fine young man, taken too soon. I knew Danny also thru Dance Lessons in the Dallas area @ 13yrs ago. He worked with my daughter Tara Omnes, now in Vancouver WA. With him, there was always fun times, and laughs, and making everyone feel special at the dances! RIP Danny, you will forever be remembered by many!

I was deeply sorry to hear about Danny. He was such a likeable person with a good heart to match. I will fondly remember his dance classes and always think of him when I hear the word "salsa".

My last dance classes with Danny was the Quick Step.  After just a few lessons, he had me believing that I could actually accomplish this dance style.  Danny was a special dance instructor because he made his classes so much fun and gave his students confidence.  I will be thinking of you this month as I begin taking another Quick Step series.

My condolences to all who loved him.  Danny, you will be missed. It was10:15pm, a few hours before the accident.  Danny was ready to leave after practicing our staff routine we had planned to perform on June 9th.  He had over 10 routines he had been rehearsing altogether.  He was a showman.  All the students he taught have the same passion for dancing he did, as if it were contagious.  If I'd known, I would have hugged him before we all left.  Instead it was just a short sweet "bye".  "see ya tomorrow".  Danny, you should know you have taught me to cherish every moment, the presence of all those around me at the moment, and to never take a single moment for granted.  We love you.  Rest in peace.

In his young and crazy days Danny lived with me and my children in Austin and Fort Worth and he was loved like my own sons. I loved his smile and he always had that big ole hug for me. Lisa you and all the family are in my prayers for Gods comfort during this time. Till we meet again my sweet friend on the streets of heaven.

Words can not describe what kind of friend and mentor you were to me, Danny.  Even though you dropped me after you promised me that you had never dropped anyone, I still trusted you more as a dance partner and as a friend that I have ever trusted anyone.  Being your dance partner was truly an experience- I think we laughed more than we danced sometimes but I never regret one minute of those lessons well spent.  Dancing will never be the same for me without your style and your passion.  Rest well, my friend.  I promise to bring you home those trophies that we were going to win and to make you proud.

Danny was one of my alltime best friends. The only thing that surpassed his talent for dancing was his love for people. I am heartbroken. I know Danny is in Heaven, in fact I am sure of it.  Love you buddy.

I knew Danny many, many years ago...that kid could DANCE!  When God handed out talent, He gave Danny a little more than He gave the rest.  Every room he walked into brightened.  He made everyone laugh and gave the most sincere hugs.  I was saddened to hear of his passing, and pray for his loved ones during this difficult time.  I was blessed to have known him and honored to call him my friend.
