David is the beloved son of Dave Pierce Sr., brother of Lucy Guinn, Lanae Malek and Jerri Humphrey. Loving Uncle to Brandon Pollard, his wife Laura and daughters Tiffany, Michaela and Brooklynn. He deeply loved his nieces Emily Pollard, Megan Figlan and Julia Guinn. He was preceded in death by his mom, Sharon Kern and stepdad Mike Kern.
From a young age, David showed a deep passion for music, picking up the drums early and carrying his rhythm into the world of broadcast radio. His natural talent, magnetic voice, and infectious laugh made him a beloved disc jockey across several radio stations throughout the South. Whether spinning records or spinning stories, David had the rare ability to light up a room or an airwave with joy and laughter. He had the unique gift of being able to walk into a room, read the audience and have them engaged our laughing in no time.
In his younger years, David was a mischievous prankster getting into trouble at home and in church for making people laugh when they were supposed to be quiet. That sense of humor never left him. He had a knack for imitating others or making up voices for pets which left friends and family in stitches. His quick wit, great laugh and genuine warmth made him unforgettable.
David had a love for new tech and was a whiz on the computer. He was a natural at promotion and could sell anything whether it was a new restaurant or why you should get the new iphone.
Although he never married and had no children his life was rich with connections, laughter and creativity. Most importantly, David was a Christian who loved Jesus and held firm to his faith throughout his life.
A Celebration of his life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on August 9th at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home in Pflugerville. Please feel free to join us and if you are unable to make it, we will stream it live.
In lieu of flowers please instead donate to his father David Pierce Sr. who carries on the radio legacy with his self-built B-Net Radio in Houston. The address is 1809 W. Mesa Park Drive, Round Rock, TX 78664.
DK will be greatly missed but never forgotten. We long to hear him again but his voice and laughter only echoes in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. At home his headphones are where he last hung them and his computer and mixing board are powered off. But we have comfort knowing that we will see and hear him again because he loved Jesus. And the stories he will tell will be both amazing and glorious and filled with laughter.
