Debra Ann Gillian

Debra Ann Gillian, age 42, joined Daniel Shea Rogers in the presence of the Lord on Wednesday, February 20, 2013 at her home in Austin, Texas. During her life, she cared for hundreds of people in need. She served for many years working at a group home, where she nurtured boys with special needs. She devoted 15 years lovingly caring for her godson David Kennedy, who provided so much joy to her life.

Debra was a loving fiancé, a devoted daughter, a beloved sister, a cherished aunt, a faithful friend, and a heartbroken mother. Debra and Drue found each other ten years ago, and clung tightly together through many trials. Drue was with Debra to the very end, and his loss is incomparable. As Joan's daughter, Debra was in daily communication and regularly went out of her way just to spend time with Joan and Red Cooper, even on the very day of her passing. Debra loved her siblings, Dava and David, and would do anything for them. She was an amazing aunt and would drop anything to spend time with her niece and nephew. Jacob and Becca enjoyed every minute they spent with their Aunt Debbie. To her friends, Debra was always a listening ear and would do anything to help a friend in need. Debra served and loved out of her nurturing, motherly heart to fill the void of the loss of her two-month-old baby boy, Danny in 1992. Debbie was a compassionate woman and her passing leaves a hole in the hearts of all who knew her.

Debra was preceded in death by her son, Daniel Shea Rogers and her father, David Foster Gillian. She is survived by her mother, Joan Bryson Cooper and step-father, Red Cooper; fiancé Drue Strain; sister Dava Maher; brother, David and sister-and-law Sara; niece, Rebecca and nephew, Jacob; and godson, David Kennedy. She is also survived by many beloved extended family members and friends.

Memorial Services will be held at Central Baptist Church in Round Rock on Sunday, February 24, 2013 at 2:30 in the afternoon.
