

He was a graduate of Austin High in 1947. He always attended his high school reunions, including the one held this last April. He attended St. Edwards University and the University of Texas, where he was on the gymnastics team. He married Lula Mae Anderson on July 28, 1951. He also served in the U.S. Naval Reserve.
Donald was an avid cattleman and hunter. He loved the outdoors, fishing, and gardening, but mostly hunting. He was also a businessman, and was involved in the restaurant business, construction, real estate, cattle, parking lots and property management.
Those left behind to cherish his memory are his beloved wife, Lula Mae Dearing; daughter, Stephanie and husband James Ehrhardt; son, Donald Louis Dearing; daughter, Tammy Burns and husband Rusty; grandchildren, Melissa and husband John Branch, Royce Dearing, Amanda Ehrhardt, and Macy Burns and great-grandchildren, Noah and Avery Branch; his sister, Nancy Lann of Cedar Park; and his sister-in-law, Audrey Dearing of Pflugerville. He is preceded in death by his sister, Jonnye Kathryn Pence of Waco, and brother, Leonard Dearing of Pflugerville. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, as well as his caretakers, Mickey and Angel Rodriguez.
Family and friends are invited to a visitation to be held on Tuesday, July 24, 2012 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home in Pflugerville. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 25, 2012 in the Memorial Chapel of Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Cemetery.
