Donald George Hughes, passed away unexpectedly on February 2, 2017. He was born on September 9, 1958 in Lexington, Kentucky, to George and Betty Hughes. He is survived by his beloved wife, Harve Retta (HR); her sons, Gregory Von Quintus, Christopher Von Quintus and wife Kim; grandchildren, Tyler, Justin, Ethan, Brooke, Scott, Addison; brother, Tom Maxwell and wife Barbara; sisters Lois Waits and husband Tom, Kathy Brown and husband Kevin; nephew, Gregory Brown; niece, Lauren Brown Hanschen and husband Mike and many friends that he considered family. Donald was very active in NHRA and IHRA (Drag Racing Associations).
A visitation honoring Donald’s life will be Thursday, February 9, 2017 from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M., at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home in Pflugerville, Texas. The funeral service will be Friday, February 10, 2017 at 3:30 P.M. at the funeral home with interment to follow at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Cemetery in Pflugerville, Texas.
